Enhancement of Soul Orbs in Deadlock
Now, the game favors the player attempting to collect the orb rather than the one trying to steal it. This update indicates that Soul Orbs “favor the collector over the thief if both attempt to obtain them in a very short window of time.”
In practical terms, if you kill a creep and attempt to collect a Soul Orb while an enemy simultaneously tries to steal it, the game will award it to you rather than your adversary. This change should make securing your Soul Orbs much simpler, especially if you’re new to this mechanic.
If you prefer to prevent your enemies from collecting Soul Orbs, you’ll need to be even quicker than before. Simultaneous efforts will no longer suffice. You’ll need to adjust your tactics to intercept these orbs in time.
Other Changes in the Update
Besides this welcome improvement, the update has simplified the mini-map with new hero icons and introduced a new reporting system to better manage toxic players. A multitude of bug fixes have also been deployed to enhance the overall gaming experience.
This change to Soul Orbs is broadly welcomed by the community, as it offers more flexibility for new players while balancing soul farming, a key element in progressing through Deadlock.
