Deadlock is Valve’s hot new game. Announced on August 24, 2024, the game is still under development but offers access through private invitations. Despite the secrecy, the game concept already boasts over 68,000 connected players, with 2,000 matches being played simultaneously today. If you want to be a new player on Deadlock, this article is for you.
Valve has opened access to Deadlock via private invitations, although it comes with time restrictions. If you or your friend already have access to Deadlock, you can simply send an in-game invite to grant full access to the recipient. However, this system may change quickly as the player count has increased six-fold in just five days this week. Additionally, the dedicated Subreddit had to be shut down by game moderators due to an emerging market for trading invitations for Steam inventory items.
Want to test Deadlock? Follow the steps below to get access.
How to Get a Deadlock Access Invitation
To access the game, all you need to do is ask!
Head over to the Deadlock France Discord server and make your request in the ‘Invitation Request’ channel with the following information:
- Steam Friend Code so someone can add you to their contacts
- Region (EU / NA…) so people know if they can invite you
No personal information or payment is required. The Steam Friend Code is necessary because invitations can only be sent between Steam contacts.
To find your Steam Friend Code:
- Open the Steam client or visit the Steam website.
- Click the ‘Friends & Chats’ button in the bottom right.
- Select the ‘Add a Friend’ option at the top right of your friend list.
- Your Friend Code will be displayed in the ‘Add a Friend’ tab.
- You can copy your Friend Code by clicking the ‘Copy’ button next to it.
Remember to say hello and thank you when making your request!
