“Ricochet Anti-Cheat resolved an issue with the detection system over the weekend, which resulted in a spike in cheater reports. For clarity, #TeamRICOCHET can detect the specific platform for all users, despite how they may appear in-game,” the announcement read.

According to the update, the anti-cheat system is now “capable of detecting the specific platform for all users, regardless of how they appear in the game.”

However, players are skeptical that the problem has been fully addressed, as indicated by feedback on the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 subreddit.

Players employ cheats to gain an advantage in the game, such as aimbots and wall hacks. Aimbots provide players with superhuman aiming abilities, whereas wall hacks allow them to see through walls to spot other players.
