Deadlock just received a fresh update overnight, bringing a slew of new features and improvements. Included are 24/7 matchmaking, a redesigned mini-map, revamped bases, and some exciting additions. You can check out all the details on the Deadlock developer forum.

The matchmaking system is now available 24/7 across all regions, ensuring players can jump into online matches anytime. This update also brings numerous visual and functional enhancements to Deadlock. Among the changes, there’s a new mini-map and updated hero icons. Additionally, neutral camps on the map now have a highlight effect. One significant change is that “Orange Lane” (Verger) has been renamed to “Green Lane” (Greenwich).

New Player Behavior System Features

A new player behavior management system has been introduced. Players may temporarily lose access to certain game features like matchmaking, voice chat, or the pause function if they exhibit inappropriate behavior. Penalties will be enforced after a behavior observation phase.

Another addition is the low priority queue, primarily targeting players who frequently leave matches or display other undesirable behaviors. To rejoin the standard queue, players must complete a required number of matches, adjusted based on the frequency of infractions.

Matchmaking and Hero Improvements

Adjustments have been made to improve match fairness: new solo players will only be matched with other new players until they accumulate four wins. Additionally, a team of six players will no longer be matched against solo players, reducing skill disparities in matches.

Hero changes include the ability to configure custom keyboard shortcuts for each hero. Also, several visual and audio enhancements have been made to make the game more immersive, including adding sound effects for certain special shots.

Performance Improvements and Bug Fixes

The update also brings significant client performance improvements. Now, the map automatically starts loading upon game launch, reducing loading times for most users. Numerous bug fixes have also been implemented, including fixing invitation errors in matches and visual issues on certain maps.

Lastly, several adjustments have been made to items and hero abilities. For instance, shield regeneration capacity has been reduced, and the cost of certain high-level items has been lowered to balance the game.
