Deadlock players are calling for tougher penalties on frequent game leavers. Even though the game is still in closed Alpha, Deadlock has already become a massive hit since Valve revealed its new MOBA. But with success comes issues with behavior and permanent bans issued by Valve in Deadlock.

With a player base this huge, problems such as cheating and toxic behavior are piling up. These issues are almost inevitable for any competitive game, yet fans are hopeful they’ll be addressed before the official release of Deadlock. Cheaters have already invaded Deadlock servers and the devs had to step in.

Stricter Penalties in Deadlock: Player Demands

Over on Reddit, one player voiced their experience, supported by many others, calling for harsher penalties for those who prematurely leave matches.

They suggested implementing a cooldown period starting at two hours, which could extend up to 48 hours for repeat offenders. “It’s incredibly frustrating to have to wait through multiple queues just to get into a game,” the player added.

While many agree on the need for stricter rules, some argue that as long as the game remains in closed Alpha, Valve should be more lenient with penalties. Bugs and general instability are to be expected for a game still in development, and unintentional disconnections need to be considered.

Another user noted an increase in game leavers since the NDA was lifted, explaining, “It’s just people discovering the game and doing what they do best.”
