Microsoft announced this new Xbox Game Pass Standard subscription to provide players with a more budget-friendly option to access a wide range of games.

First to get their hands on this offer are members of the Xbox Insiders program, who can try it out from today for just $1 a month. This new Xbox Game Pass Standard plan allows players to provide feedback to Xbox before the official launch.

According to Megan Spurr, Xbox Game Pass Community Manager, day-one titles will continue to be exclusive to the Game Pass Ultimate and PC plans. The Standard plan will only grant access to the classic game catalog, with some launch titles available up to 12 months after their initial release, and potentially later.

• This new Standard plan is designed for players who want to combine the multiplayer features of the Core plan ($6.99 per month) with an expanded game catalog, all while enjoying discounts, for $14.99 per month at launch.
• PC players can access PC games, including day-one titles, and EA Play for $11.99 per month.
• The Ultimate plan, which includes all options, including cloud gaming, is now available for $17.99 per month.

As Spurr explained, “We have created this new subscription option within the Game Pass family to offer players more choices in how they discover and play their games, providing different prices and plans so everyone can find what works best for them.”
