Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players have an urgent request before the second weekend of the open beta: a nerf for the Jackal PDW. The first weekend of early access, which wrapped up after a short two-day break, sparked a lot of community feedback.

Players who pre-ordered BO6 or snagged early access for the weekend starting on August 30 have been actively sharing their impressions. Among the many improvement suggestions, one stands out: the Jackal PDW, an SMG that currently dominates the gameplay.

Players Demand Nerf for the Jackal PDW in Black Ops 6

The Jackal PDW is the most used weapon in the beta, and for good reason: its firepower combined with great mobility makes it nearly unstoppable. Thanks to BO6’s new “omnimovement” mechanics, players can easily dive and slide around opponents while dealing massive damage at both close and long ranges.

  • Exceptional Mobility: Allows quick maneuvers with BO6’s new mechanics.
  • Overpowered Damage: Capable of quickly taking out enemies even beyond its optimal range.

Players are calling for Treyarch to reduce this weapon’s power in the next patch. “Nerf the Jackal so we can see other weapons in the killfeed,” wrote @Slidzzy, a sentiment echoed by many in the community. Others have also requested updates on this nerf before the official launch on October 25.

Other Player Concerns

Besides the dominance of the Jackal PDW, players reported other common issues like lag, poor spawn points, and difficulty seeing enemies at a distance on some maps. Some hope these issues will be addressed before the beta reopens on Friday, September 6 at noon (CT).

Although Treyarch has not confirmed whether a patch will be deployed at that time, the intensity of player feedback suggests that a Jackal PDW adjustment is almost certain before the game’s release.
